The Senior Agronomist is responsible for providing advanced agronomic expertise, developing crop management solutions, conducting field trials, supporting farmers with technical advice, and training internal/external stakeholders. The role ensures scientific validation of products and promotes sustainable agriculture practices.

Roles & Responsibilities (R&R):1. Crop Advisory & Technical Guidance



Provide scientific guidance to farmers on soil health, nutrition management, crop protection, irrigation, and modern cultivation practices. Develop crop-specific Packages of Practices (PoPs) for different regions. Diagnose crop issues (pests, diseases, deficiencies) and recommend timely solutions.

2. Field Trials & Demonstrations



Plan, design, and execute field trials for seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, biostimulants, and other agri-inputs. Collect and analyze data on crop performance and product efficacy. Conduct farmer field days, demonstrations, and crop seminars to showcase results.

3. Training & Knowledge Transfer



Train sales teams, distributors, and dealers on agronomic practices and product usage. Conduct technical sessions for farmers to increase awareness of sustainable practices. Provide scientific content for marketing campaigns, brochures, and field materials.

4. Research & Development Support



Collaborate with R&D teams for new product evaluation and positioning. Monitor emerging agricultural technologies, crop innovations, and precision farming techniques. Provide technical insights for new product launches and positioning in the market.

5. Farmer & Market Engagement



Build strong relationships with progressive farmers, farmer groups (FPOs), and agri institutions. Collect field-level feedback from farmers to improve product performance. Act as a technical representative of the company at exhibitions, workshops, and conferences.

6. Reporting & Documentation



Prepare detailed reports on trials, demonstrations, and field visits. Maintain technical documentation, agronomy bulletins, and crop advisory notes. Provide MIS updates, competitor product comparisons, and crop performance reports.

Qualifications & Experience:



M.Sc. ,BSC in Agriculture (Agronomy, Soil Science, Crop Science, or related fields). 02-05 years of experience in agronomy, crop advisory, or agri-input technical services. Strong knowledge of regional cropping systems and agronomic practices.

Skills Required:



Strong technical expertise in crops, soils, and plant nutrition. Excellent communication, presentation, and farmer-handling skills. Ability to analyze data and provide scientific recommendations. Training, mentoring, and team leadership abilities. Willingness to travel extensively across rural/agriculture areas.
