GMI Data Operations Analyst: North America Foodservice Capabilities
As part of the North America Foodservice team, the Data Operations Analyst plays a critical operational role. This role deeply knows the data: what it means, where to find it, and how to use it. Our primary objective is to advance understanding by delivering optimized, well-defined data that enables reporting, analysis, and application.

This role has data governance responsibility for Foodservice customer data including (but not limited to) product, customers, contacts, volume, hierarchies, etc. This position requires a foundational knowledge of products and brands plus a broad perspective for customer data. You will advance organizational understanding and use of critical data assets of support of NAF's data driven capabilities.

As part of the Data Analyst Operations team, you will find a unique opportunity to advance both your business acumen and technical skills. Typical work includes partnering closely with stakeholders & Product Owners to understand needs and ensure our data can meet business demands. You will build and sustain both cross-functional and external relationships while improving existing data structures and incorporating new capabilities into our ecosystem.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

In this role you will:

  • Understand how data sets are organized and structured; including what it is, the relationships, and how it is can be used to inform analysis
  • Advance understanding for the data foundation to aid knowledge and accurate utility
  • Partners with NAF Product Owner to:
  • Partner & execute against overall data procurement roadmap to enable acquisition, data prep, ingestion of new sources, and maintenance in support of key business initiatives (Leads, SRM, Sales Analytics, Connected Commerce)
  • Enhance & interact with data quality interface to monitor and address data quality issues
  • Executes ongoing maintenance of external data to "harmonize" with General Mills internal definitions of products and customers (cross-referencing).
  • Research and remediates data quality and/or processing issues
  • Create and sustain strong relationships with a broad array of internal stakeholders to gain business context and with external partners to ensure the data meets business needs
  • Deploy data design expertise to ensure well defined data sets are available
  • Collaborate with NAF Product Team to confirm data utility requirements; enabling it to be optimally surfaced in our internal data systems
  • Apply Agile Methodology to deploy change requirements via preferred methods accounting for priorities, time, and resources
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualification

Minimum Degree Requirements: Bachelors
Preferred Degree Requirements: Masters
Preferred Major Area of Study: Computers Science, Information Technology, Marketing

Experience
Minimum years of related experience required: 4 years
Preferred years of related experience: 6 years
  • Passion for data governance; driving data quality via data application and understanding across an organization
  • 3+ years of in market data knowledge and/or demonstrated experience in managing large data sets including needs identification, partnering on solutions, and managing change
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; highly collaborative and able to build/sustain relationships
  • Resilient change agent
  • Agility to deliver with a sense of urgency, consistently meeting timelines
  • Ability to work with highly technical teams to translate business needs into requirements
  • Exhibit a learning mindset and curiosity about consumer behavior, types of consumer data and application
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Technical aptitude managing large data sets
  • Advanced data query skills with applications such as SQL, BI, PowerQuery, etc.
