JOB OVERVIEW



General Mills is seeking a Senior Reporting Analyst to turn complex workforce data into meaningful, actionable insights using Workday's most advanced reporting tools. In this high-impact role, you'll design, develop, and optimize sophisticated reporting solutions that empower strategic decision-making across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical proficiency in Workday's reporting capabilities--including Dashboards, Discovery Boards, Composite, Matrix and Advanced Reports, Worksheets, and Prism--and a strong understanding of data security and reporting governance. You will act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, partnering closely with stakeholders to design scalable, accurate, and insightful reporting solutions. Strong technical skills, a deep understanding of Workday's data model, and experience with reporting governance are essential, along with a consultative mindset and a willingness to mentor junior analysts.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Data Analysis & Reporting

:
Collaborate on enterprise-wide reporting initiatives that span multiple systems (e.g., Workday, VNDLY, ATS), ensuring cohesive data models and a unified reporting strategy. Possess deep expertise in Workday's data model, security, and advanced reporting features. Architect complex reporting solutions leveraging calculated fields, composite reports, dashboards, and external data blending Leverage Workday Prism to integrate external and Workday-native data for comprehensive reporting. Assist in performance tuning of Prism datasets to ensure efficient query performance and scalability. Demonstrate a strong understanding of Workday data sources across all modules (HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, EIBs, calculated fields, and security frameworks). Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated reports, dashboards, and data visualizations within all modules in Workday and other HR systems, utilizing features such as calculated fields, Prism data sources, and discovery boards. Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure timely, accurate delivery of reporting solutions. Proactively identify and implement process improvements and innovative data visualization techniques to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing, validation, and the implementation of robust controls. Drive innovation in reporting and visualization, adopting modern techniques to enhance usability and performance. Deeply understands data and business processes to ensure accurate interpretation and reporting. Develop and deliver user-friendly dashboards and infographics to minimize ad-hoc requests, providing consultative support and evaluating user requests for feasibility and scalability. Serve as a subject matter expert on HR workforce data, guiding data consumers and promoting consistent interpretation and utilization of workforce data. Effectively communicate complex data nuances to both technical and non-technical audiences. Troubleshoot and resolve complex reporting issues, optimizing for performance and usability.

Reporting Governance:

Maintain a comprehensive reporting governance framework, recommending standards for data definitions, report design, and data quality. Lead regular audits of reporting processes to ensure compliance, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborates with stakeholders to maintain data integrity across all systems. Develop and deliver training on reporting and governance to relevant stakeholders.

Mentorship & Collaboration:

Act as a technical mentor and advisor for junior analysts, providing hands-on coaching in reporting tools, Prism performance optimization, and governance compliance. Provide high-level training to the business as needed. Provide consultative support to HR and business partners, helping them interpret complex data, understand limitations, and scale reporting needs appropriately. Participate in the development and implementation of new reporting systems and technologies. Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in data analytics and reporting.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Education - Full time graduation from an accredited university (Mandatory- Note: This is the minimum education criteria which cannot be altered)
Experience required- 6 years

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Preferred years of related experience:7-10 years
Preferred Major Area of Study: Statistics / BE / IT
Preferred Degree Requirements: Masters

Technical

Skills:

Expert in Workday reporting (Report Writer, Dashboards, Worksheets, Discovery Boards and Prism), advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, macros), ServiceNow, and PowerPoint. Experience gathering requirements and delivering reporting solutions to stakeholders. Expert understanding of Workday's security framework to ensure data access compliance. Understand SQL and/or strong data modeling logic.


Analytical Skills:

Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and solve complex problems using data-driven approaches. Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze data objectively and draw accurate conclusions.

Business & Communication Skills:

Business Acumen: Understanding of business processes and key performance indicators (KPIs). Communication (Written & Verbal): Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences. Presentation Skills: Ability to present data findings effectively to stakeholders. Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
