Senior Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, oversee the fabrication cost accounting process (job costing), ensure statutory compliance (GST, TDS), and prepare monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports to support top management decision-making. The role requires strong expertise in ERP systems, inventory management, and variance analysis in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cost Accounting & Project Tracking (Critical)
Manage Job Costing: Tracking direct material, labor, and overheads for each fabrication project/work order.
Work-in-Progress (WIP) Monitoring: Analyze project progress, WIP valuation, and percentage completion.
Variance Analysis: Compare actual job costs against estimated/budgeted costs to identify deviations (material cost variance, labor efficiency).
Inventory Management: Oversee raw material inventory, steel stock reconciliation, scrap valuation, and monthly physical verification.
2. Financial Accounting & Finalization
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet).
Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring accurate vendor reconciliation and customer aging reports.
Ensure accurate recording of fixed assets, depreciation, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) for machinery and shop floor equipment.
3. Statutory Compliance
Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, 3B, 2A/2B reconciliation).
Handle TDS, TCS, Provident Fund (PF), and ESI compliance.
Coordinate with auditors (Internal/Statutory/Tax) for timely completion of audits.
4. Reporting & MIS
Prepare monthly MIS reports focusing on cost of goods sold (COGS), gross margins, cash flow projections, and working capital requirements.
Perform bank reconciliations and manage Letter of Credit (LC) / Bank Guarantee (BG) documentation.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education:
B.com/M.com (Chartered Accountant/Cost Accountant (CMA) intermediate or qualified preferred).
Experience:
5-8 years of experience in accounting within the manufacturing or fabrication industry.
ERP Proficiency:
Hands-on experience with Tally ERP 9/TallyPrime, SAP B1, or Oracle NetSuite.
Technical Skills:
Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP) for data analysis.
Domain Knowledge:
Solid understanding of fabrication processes, inventory valuation (FIFO/Weighted Average), and direct/indirect tax laws.

Ability to meet strict month-end closing deadlines.
Analytical, problem-solving mindset to interpret cost data.
