Job Description

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance for the automobile dealership/workshop. The role includes supervising junior accountants, maintaining accurate books of accounts, and ensuring timely completion of all statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

Manage and maintain all accounting records in Tally ERP / SAP / DMS software.

Record daily sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and journal entries.

Handle all accounting operations related to vehicle sales, service, and spare parts divisions.

Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.

2. Financial Reporting

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Generate MIS reports and analyze profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.

Support management in budgeting and forecasting activities.

3. Taxation & Compliance

Handle GST returns, TDS deduction, payment, and filing.

Coordinate for professional tax, income tax, and other statutory compliances.

Liaise with auditors during internal and statutory audits.

4. Bank & Vendor Management

Prepare and monitor bank reconciliations.

Manage vendor payments and ensure proper documentation.

Handle financing and loan documentation related to vehicle inventory.

5. Payroll & Employee Reimbursements

Verify payroll entries, salary disbursement, and statutory deductions (PF/ESI).

Process staff reimbursements and maintain records.

6. Inventory & Asset Accounting

Monitor inventory valuation of vehicles, spare parts, and consumables.

Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedule.

Skills & Competencies

:

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and taxation (GST, TDS, etc.)

Experience in automobile dealership accounting systems (e.g., DMS, Tally ERP, Autosoft, Dealer Management System)

Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools

Analytical thinking and attention to detail

Team management and communication skills

Qualification & Experience

:

Education: B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA Inter

Experience: 5-10 years in accounting, preferably in the automobile industry

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
