Role Overview

The Senior Accounts Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting operations, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting financial planning and decision-making. This role requires a strong understanding of Indian accounting standards, taxation, audits, and internal controls, along with the ability to lead and mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities



Accounting & Financial Operations

Manage end-to-end accounting including

GL, AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closures

Ensure timely and accurate preparation of

monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Oversee accounting entries, provisions, accruals, depreciation, and expense recognition Maintain robust

internal controls

and accounting processes
Compliance & Statutory Matters

Ensure compliance with

GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, Professional Tax

, and other statutory requirements Manage timely filing of

GST returns (GSTR 1, 3B, reconciliations), TDS returns, and income tax filings

Coordinate and manage

statutory audits, tax audits, and internal audits

Act as the primary point of contact for auditors, consultants, and tax advisors
Payroll & Employee Expenses

Oversee payroll processing in coordination with HR and payroll vendors Ensure accurate accounting of

salaries, reimbursements, incentives, and employee benefits

Review payroll-related compliances and statutory deductions
Budgeting, MIS & Reporting

Support preparation and tracking of

budgets and forecasts

Prepare and present

MIS reports

, variance analysis, and cost reports for management Provide financial insights to support business decisions
Vendor & Stakeholder Management

Manage vendor payments, ageing reports, and reconciliations Ensure proper documentation and compliance for all vendor contracts and payments Coordinate with internal stakeholders (HR, Ops, Sales) on finance-related matters
Team & Process Management

Lead, mentor, and review the work of junior accounts executives Drive process improvements, automation, and system strengthening Ensure documentation of SOPs and best practices

Key Skills & Competencies



Strong knowledge of

Indian accounting standards and taxation

Hands-on experience with

GST and TDS compliances

Proficiency in

accounting software

(Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or similar) Advanced skills in

Excel / Google Sheets

High attention to detail and accuracy Strong ownership, accountability, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and manage deadlines

Qualifications & Experience



CA / CA Inter / CMA / M.Com / B.Com

(CA preferred)

6-10 years

of relevant experience in accounting and finance Experience in

SME, startup, services, or education/travel industry

is a plus Prior experience in handling audits and statutory compliances independently
