Job Description

A Senior Accountant manages daily financial operations, ensures compliance, prepares reports, and analyzes financial data, overseeing tasks like general ledger, month/year-end closing, reconciliations, budgeting, and tax filings, often mentoring junior staff and supporting audits for better financial health and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports (Budget vs. Actuals).

: Lead and manage closing processes, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. * Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and tax regulations (GST, TDS), handling filings and audits.

• Operations: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and cash flow management.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in financial systems, controls, and procedures.
• Auditing: Coordinate with external auditors and assist with audit requests.
• Leadership: Mentor junior accountants and provide financial insights to senior management.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and principles.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA/CA often preferred.

Reporting Structure

• Typically reports to an Accounting Manager, Finance Director, Controller, or CFO.
