Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented

SQL Technical Support Engineer

to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide technical assistance to clients and internal teams by troubleshooting SQL-related issues, optimizing database performance, and ensuring data integrity. You will serve as the primary point of contact for resolving SQL database incidents and providing proactive support.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide

technical support

for SQL Server databases, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Diagnose and resolve

database performance issues

, query errors, deadlocks, and connectivity problems. Analyze, debug, and optimize

SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers

. Work closely with

application developers

and system administrators to identify and fix database-related issues. Monitor SQL Server performance using tools like

SQL Profiler, Performance Monitor, and Query Store

. Manage

backup, recovery, and security

configurations. Support

database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities

. Prepare

technical documentation

, knowledge base articles, and root cause analysis reports. Provide

timely updates

to customers and ensure SLA compliance. Participate in on-call rotations and handle escalated incidents.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Must have 2-5 years experience in SQL Queries

2-5 years

of hands-on experience in

SQL Server administration and support

. Strong knowledge of

T-SQL

, indexing, query optimization, and database design. Experience with

SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)

and related tools. Understanding of

Windows Server environments

and

network connectivity

. Familiarity with

backup and restore strategies

,

high availability

, and

replication

. Excellent

problem-solving, communication, and customer service

skills. Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with

Azure SQL

,

MySQL

, or

PostgreSQL

is a plus. Knowledge of

PowerShell

Python

, or scripting for automation. Certification such as

Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate

or

MCSA: SQL Database Administration

.
