Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced

Azure Subject Matter Expert (SME)

with strong expertise in

replatforming on-premises workloads to Azure

and

database migration

. The ideal candidate will have

hands-on experience with Azure Database Migration Service (DMS)

and

SQL technologies

, leading end-to-end migration projects from assessment to cut-over.

Key Responsibilities

Lead

replatforming initiatives

from on-premises environments to Azure. Perform

Azure Migrate assessments

including: +

Discovery

of workloads, applications, and dependencies.
+

Sizing and cost estimation

for Azure resources.
Design and implement

migration strategies

for databases and applications. Execute

database migrations

using

Azure Database Migration Service (DMS)

for: + SQL Server to Azure SQL Database / Azure SQL Managed Instance.
+ Other relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) to Azure.
Develop

migration runbooks

and ensure smooth cut-over with minimal downtime. Troubleshoot migration issues and optimize performance post-migration. Collaborate with application teams to validate migration approach and timelines. Provide

best practices

for governance, security, and compliance during migration.

Required Skills & Experience

Hands-on experience

with: +

Azure Migrate

(assessment, discovery, planning, migration, cut-over).
+

Azure Database Migration Service (DMS)

for heterogeneous and homogeneous migrations.
+ SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of: + Azure IaaS and PaaS services.
+ Networking, identity, and security in Azure.
Experience in

large-scale migration projects

(on-prem to Azure or cross-cloud). Ability to create

migration plans and execute them effectively

. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft Certified:

Azure Solutions Architect Expert

,

Azure Database Administrator Associate

, or

Data Engineer Associate

. Experience with

hybrid cloud environments

. * Familiarity with

automation tools

for migration and deployment.
