SQL Database Optimization

We are currently looking for a senior SQL Database Performance & Optimization Engineer to join our client on a contract basis (6-12 months) for a high-impact optimization project related to our trading platform systems. Please find below the detailed JD and key expectations.

Position: Database Performance & Optimization Engineer

Location: Hyderabad

Contract Tenure: 6 months (with possible extension)

Compensation: ?20 -?25 LPA (based on experience and fit)

Joining: Immediate to 30 days preferred

Key Responsibilities:

?Lead and implement automated index management solutions:

oWeekly automation to disable unused indexes

oContinuous monitoring to identify required index creations or reinstatements

oIdentification and clean-up of low-utility, high-space-consuming indexes

?Automate transaction log file cleanup:

oEnsure optimal size before backups to reduce post-restore overhead

?Reorganize and rebuild indexes and tables with optimized fill factors

?Lead index optimization and tuning across large-scale databases

?Introduce data compression techniques and automate index checks

?Work with internal teams and FIS (vendor) to align on strategy and implementation

?Optimize ADS caching and memory utilization:

oImprove memory footprint through enhanced cache mechanisms and buffer tuning

?Contribute to upgrade scripts and automation for consistent performance

Mandatory Skills:

?10+ years of experience in SQL Server administration and performance tuning

?Proven experience in:

oRe-indexing, Index Fragmentation Handling

oLog File Optimization

oData Model Restructuring & DB Space Management

oDB Automation using scripting (T-SQL, PowerShell etc.)

?Strong troubleshooting and performance monitoring skills

?Excellent collaboration and communication - role involves coordination with teams in India, Czech Republic and South Africa

Preferred Skills:

?Background in Banking, Capital Markets, or Trading platforms

?Experience with Front Arena or any similar trading platform

?Familiarity with ADS cache tuning and trading data models

We expect this role to deliver measurable DB file size reduction and memory optimization in our PROD, PREPROD, and DEV environments -- with long-term automation in place for future upgrades and maintenance.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?1,500,000.00 - ?2,500,000.00 per year
