We are seeking a qualified and motivated Sports Psychologist to support athletes and teams in enhancing mental performance, managing stress, and maintaining emotional well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in psychological principles, applied within the context of sports and physical performance. This role involves working closely with athletes, coaches, and support staff to optimize performance and mental resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate athletes' mental strengths, challenges, and readiness.
Provide individual and group sessions focusing on performance enhancement, motivation, goal setting, concentration, and emotional regulation.
Address issues such as performance anxiety, burnout, recovery from injury, and team dynamics.
Design and deliver mental skills training programs tailored to different sports and performance levels.
Support athletes in balancing sport with academic, social, and personal demands.
Collaborate with coaches, physiotherapists, trainers, and other health professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Educate athletes, coaches, and parents about psychological factors in sport.
Maintain confidential and up-to-date client records in accordance with ethical and legal guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree (MSc) in Sports Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or related field with a focus on performance psychology.
Knowledge of sports science, performance enhancement techniques, and psychological theory.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially in high-performance environments.
Ability to work with diverse populations, including elite athletes, youth, and amateur sportspeople.
Awareness of ethical and professional guidelines related to sports psychology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working with athletes or teams in a clinical or coaching setting.
Certification or training in areas such as mindfulness, biofeedback, or cognitive-behavioral interventions for performance.
Understanding of injury psychology and rehabilitation support.
Familiarity with goal-setting models, visualization techniques, and stress management tools.
Work Environment:
Work settings may include sports teams, clubs, academies, schools, rehabilitation centers.
Travel may be required for team events, competitions, or training camps.
Sessions may be conducted in-person/on the field.
