Overview:

As a Spoken English Teacher, you will be responsible for designing and delivering effective spoken English courses to students of varying proficiency levels. Your primary goal will be to improve students' conversational English skills, fluency, pronunciation, and confidence in speaking. You will create engaging lesson plans, employ various teaching methodologies, and provide constructive feedback to help students enhance their communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:

Design and develop comprehensive spoken English curricula tailored to different proficiency levels and learning objectives. Select appropriate teaching materials, resources, and multimedia tools to supplement course content and enhance learning outcomes.

Lesson Planning and Delivery:

Prepare and deliver dynamic and interactive English language lessons that focus on speaking, listening, pronunciation, and vocabulary acquisition. Utilize a variety of teaching techniques, activities, and instructional strategies to engage students and promote active participation. Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to practice speaking English confidently.

Assessment and Feedback:

Assess students' speaking skills through oral presentations, discussions, role-plays, and other speaking tasks. Provide constructive feedback to students on their language use, pronunciation, grammar, and fluency, and offer guidance for improvement. Administer periodic assessments and progress evaluations to track students' development and adjust teaching strategies as needed.

Individualized Instruction:

Identify individual learning needs and learning styles of students and adapt teaching approaches accordingly. Offer personalized support and additional assistance to students who require extra help in improving their spoken English proficiency.

Classroom Management:

Establish clear expectations for behavior and participation in the classroom and maintain a positive and respectful learning environment. Manage classroom dynamics effectively, address student concerns, and resolve conflicts as they arise.

Professional Development:

Stay abreast of current trends, best practices, and advancements in English language teaching methodologies. Participate in professional development activities, workshops, and conferences to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or a related field. A TESOL/TEFL certification is preferred. Proven experience in teaching English as a second language, particularly in spoken English instruction. Strong command of the English language with native or near-native proficiency. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to motivate and inspire students to actively engage in language learning. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for teaching and helping students succeed.

Additional Requirements:

Familiarity with language learning technology and digital tools for instructional purposes. Flexibility to work with diverse student populations in various settings, including language institutes, schools, or online platforms. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues and administrators. Willingness to adapt to changing educational needs and implement innovative teaching strategies.
