Position Overview
We are seeking qualified and experienced therapists in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Speech-Language Therapy to support students with special needs. The therapists will collaborate with the special education team to assess, plan, and deliver therapy sessions that help children overcome developmental, emotional, behavioral, sensory, or communication challenges.
Key Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
Assess students referred by teachers or special educators and identify therapy needs
Develop individualized therapy plans in coordination with the special education team and parents
Conduct one-on-one or small group therapy sessions as per plan
Maintain detailed session records and track student progress
Provide feedback to parents and teachers, suggesting strategies for classroom and home use
Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Plan) discussions as needed
Promote an inclusive environment through team collaboration and training sessions for staff.
Role-Specific Responsibilities
CBT Therapist
Address emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges using evidence-based CBT approaches
Support students dealing with anxiety, social difficulties, attention issues, and low self-esteem
Use child-friendly and age-appropriate CBT techniques and tools
Occupational Therapist
Work on improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, handwriting, posture, and daily functional skills
Conduct sensory integration activities and create structured OT programs tailored to the school environment
Recommend classroom accommodations and assistive tools
Speech-Language Therapist
Address speech delays, articulation issues, stammering, language comprehension, and expression
Conduct speech and language screenings and detailed evaluations
Design interactive and engaging speech therapy sessions using visuals, AAC (if needed), and play-based methods
Qualifications and Skills
Relevant degree/diploma in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution
Valid license/registration (e.g., RCI for Speech & OT, clinical psychologist license for CBT if applicable)
Minimum 1-3 years of experience working with children in schools or pediatric therapy settings
Strong documentation, observation, and communication skills
Compassionate, patient, and child-centric approach
Preferred Experience
Exposure to working in inclusive education settings or with neurodiverse children
Familiarity with tools like PECS, sensory diets, visual schedules, AAC, or handwriting programs
Bilingual communication skills (e.g., English and Tamil) is a plus
