Job Title Specialist, Systems Administration for Backup Engineer What You will do: Incident Management Respond to, investigate, and resolve issues involving Backup failures. Escalate and/or engage other support groups as needed to meet service targets for resolution quality and timeliness! Responsible for end-to-end delivery of Backup solutions to all customers. Working with other Infrastructure Services teams to deliver an infrastructure solution that are technically sound, resilient to failure, operationally supportable, and meets the requirements of the business. Team will be responsible for troubleshooting backup job failures, physical & virtual tape library, data domain errors, add backup clients and restore the backup as an when requested. Change Management Execute approved Changes for backup restore and configuration requests with 100% accuracy. What you will need to have: Bachelor\'s Degree in any field 5 -8 years of relevant experience in Backup and Restore Technologies Hands-on expertise on Rubrik, Dell EMC Avamar, EMC Networker, IBM Spectrum Protect, Data Domain and ECS (Elastic Cloud Storage) Strong organizational and communication skills are necessary. Knowledge of Operating system, Windows, Linux, AIX and ESX A strong background of Backup infrastructure, vendor coordination and Management Good understanding of ITIL framework and service delivery Proven customer service skills - both written and verbal What would be great to have: Understanding DR backup and restore- scenarios and procedures. Understanding and configuring multiple backup copies, aux copies, etc Configure reports and analysis of reports. Understanding of concepts like Deduplication, Encryption, Compression, Replication, Global Filters, Operations Window, Restore by Jobs Understanding backup requirements of the customer and performing configurations accordingly Sound knowledge and practical approach towards ITIL concepts, especially, Incident Management, Change Management, and Problem Management Ability to collaborate with platform teams, customers, and vendors to solve backup issues, find single point of failures and eliminate design issues. Interact with senior management, executives, and business units in communicating complex situations during outages or operational updates.
