Job Title Specialist, Software Development Engineering

As a Senior Java Developer, you will be a part of small but growing team of hardworking people responsible for creating and maintaining a suite of cutting edge back-of-house web applications, point-of-sale APIs, and Android client applications in a fast-paced results-oriented environment.

We\'re looking for an experienced backend Java software engineer to help build, certify, and operate complex payment systems. These systems allow our large fleet of smart payment terminals to process millions of transactions a day via our cloud infrastructure. You are pragmatic in balancing priorities and enjoy working in an iterative model where specifications are constantly changing. Our improvements and features are deployed every two weeks, and hotfixes may occur every few days.

As a Senior Server-Side Java Developer, you can look forward to:

\xe2\x97\x8f Designing and implementing payment gateway integrations that will be processing thousands of transactions a second.

\xe2\x97\x8f Taking ownership of the features/components you work on - from development through deployment and verification, to setting up production monitoring.

\xe2\x97\x8f Must be able to write highly reliable code.

\xe2\x97\x8f Future proof of our payment services through scalability and re-design of key components as necessary such as migration from SQL to NoSQL.

\xe2\x97\x8f Refactor code to be more maintainable and testable.

\xe2\x97\x8f Test-driven development and unit testing.

\xe2\x97\x8f Designing and implementing REST APIs for mobile and web clients including our payment devices, web dashboard, and 3rd party apps.

\xe2\x97\x8f Identifying technical requirements in product meetings and assisting the business team with realistic project planning and feature development; translate product requirements into functional, maintainable, extensible software that is in-line with company objectives

\xe2\x97\x8f Owning your merchant-facing services /features from development through deployment and production monitoring

\xe2\x97\x8f Working with the Infrastructure Team to design data models to support large-scale highly available services

\xe2\x97\x8f Developing new features, investigating/reproducing/resolving bugs

\xe2\x97\x8f Writing automated tests for new web features and update existing tests as needed.

\xe2\x97\x8f Being a team player, ability to collaborate idea sharing in a strong product setting.

\xe2\x97\x8f Following Agile SDLC, participating in planning and Scrumban boards. \xe2\x97\x8f Performing production support services as part of a regular on-call rotation.

Basic Qualifications for consideration:

\xe2\x97\x8f Bachelors degree required.

\xe2\x97\x8f 7+ years of Java experience in back end server-side software development. \xe2\x97\x8f Experience with MySQL or similar relational databases

\xe2\x97\x8f Experience with API design

\xe2\x97\x8f Experience with JUnit, TestNG, or other Java-based test frameworks \xe2\x97\x8f Understanding of build systems and Software version control, preferably Git

\xe2\x97\x8f Experienced in the day-to-day practicalities of Software Development Lifecycles such as Scrum.

Preferred Qualifications for consideration:

\xe2\x97\x8f Experience with microservices, preferably Spring Boot

\xe2\x97\x8f Python scripting experience

\xe2\x97\x8f Complex API interactions from single page application frontend.
