What does a successful database developer - Professional do at Fiserv?

A successful database developer -Professional at Fiserv do database design, optimizes database performance, and mentors junior developers, demonstrating deep expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, and database design principles.

What will you do:

Develop, maintain, and optimize PL/SQL code for efficient database operations. Design and implement database solutions to support business requirements. Troubleshoot and debug complex database issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical guidance. Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards. Optimize database performance through query optimization and indexing strategies. Create and maintain technical documentation for developed solutions.

What will you need to have:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. 5 years of hands-on experience in SQL and PL/SQL development. Proficiency in Oracle database technologies. Strong understanding of database design principles and normalization. Work on security scans and pipelines for code deployment. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Effective communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels.

What would be great to have:

Powerbuilder Knowledge Oracle certification (e.g., Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate). Experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques. Knowledge of other programming languages such as Shell Scripting, Java, Python/Perl, or C/C++. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. Expertise in version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD (Github actions, Harness etc)
