NICE is currently seeking an experienced Performance Engineer to join our dynamic and growing R&D team located in Pune.
Responsibilities:
Strategic:

  • Bringing in and implementing mature methodologies, non-functional processes and practices utilizing industry standards to harden the product Performance Scalability, and Reliability.
  • Defining product performance models, tiers and respective KPIs.
  • Coaching and influencing the larger Engineering team on Design for Performance topics and implementing corrective actions from the lessons learned.
  • Distilling large amounts of raw test result data into clear and concise views for internal and external (customer) presentations as needed.
  • Calibrating priorities with the leadership to establish and communicate team's roadmap.
  • Planning and performing software performance testing and monitoring of various systems and software features
Tactical:
  • Design & implementation of performance test scenarios & cases, according to design document and non-functional requirements.
  • Performance testing of Business Solution Modules in large scale Server-Client environment of financial domain areas
  • Performing lab testing using Load simulation tools based on defined models the produce Performance reports, in scheduled timeline, achieving clear testing results
  • Analyzing performance results, documenting coding issues to be fixed in severity scale.
  • Working with the R&D & product management team to identify issues and improvement opportunities and to drive improvements into the product.
  • Collaborating with customer facing organizations including Sales, Services and Support.
  • Participating in direct customer engagements, consulting on performance, engineering, and implementations (hardware build-out, provisioning, and system tuning).
  • Coaching and assisting the performance team with learning performance tools, scripting, and troubleshooting.
  • Enabling performance team members to work as one cohesive engineering team where the combined effort brings increased overall value.
  • Interface with the various R&D Groups, Customer Support and professional services.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of proven experience in performance testing with at least 3-6 years experience in performance engineering.
  • Experience in test planning - Familiar with testing methodologies and processes.
  • Hands-on experience with standard load testing tools, such as LoadRunner, Gatling or others.
  • Hands on experience developing performance and automation testing strategies and approaches for large systems.
  • Development experience in one of the languages - Java, Python or anything similar.
  • Working experience with any of the standard databases (Oracle/MySQL/MS-SQL).
  • Hands-on experience any APM tools like New Relic and Dynatrace.
  • Knack for automating the mundane, repetitive processes of day-to-day work using any platform or framework.
  • At least basic knowledge of one or more cloud providers and their services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Basic level of understanding of Shell scripting, AWS CLI.
  • PaaS/SaaS performance testing and engineering experience is a plus.
  • Experience in JVM tuning, Heapdump analysis, Threaddump analysis is a big plus.
  • BE./B.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent
