What You Will Do:
As part of the Technical Publication function, you will develop, write, edit, and maintain technical documentation. P2 - Specialist (II) Technical Writer will work closely with R&D to conduct interviews to solicit, define and document software design requirements, transform specifications and user's stories in to User's Manuals.
This position requires above average FrameMaker skills with ability to alter/update CSS and transition FrameMaker documents in to MadCap Flare.



Job:

• Demonstrates sound understanding of technical documentation life cycle and has an attention to detail
• Analyze the needs of the target audience
• Study data and conduct in-depth interviews with subject matter experts to understand the product or procedure
• Own and prepare technical end-user documents, such as User Guides and Help Files, Install Guides, Release Notes, etc
• Produce or arrange for illustrations, charts, and photographs to be included in publications
• Edit, standardize and peer review material prepared by other writers
• Define and manage timelines for documentation deliverable
• Revise existing documents using technical content supplied by others with minimal supervision
• Has developed knowledge and skills in own job family; still acquiring / expanding fundamental knowledge and higher-level skills
• Apply knowledge and skills to a variety of standard activities
• Work with moderate or no guidance in own area of knowledge
• Ability to collaborate and work with onshore teams
• Develop effective subject matter expert relationships
• Adhere to the Technical Publications Policies and Procedures Guide
• Use a high degree of initiative to seek out information for documents
• Requires minimum guidance

Technical Skills Required:

Must Have -

• Adobe FrameMaker (Structured/Unstructured) or similar Authoring Tool
• SnagIT (or Photoshop) or any other image editing tool
• Experience working in agile environment
• MS Office
• Excellent communication skills - verbal and written

Good to Have -

• RoboHelp
• MadCap Flare and Adobe InDesign
• Knowledge of Enterprise Version Management System
• Knowledge of CMS/DITA/XML

Education or Equivalent (minimum):

For this role, we require a candidate who has Bachelor's degree (in Computer Sciences or similar field) and/or Master's degree (Computer Sciences or similar field) or equivalent. Candidate can also be from a non-technical background, however must be able to understand complex technical products and their implementation. The role will require the candidate to create end-user documentation ( internal and external customers) including software and systems engineering documents.

Years of relevant experience:

6+ Relevant experience in Technical Writing required.
