ABOUT THE ROLE

Global Clinical Solutions (GCS) drives the delivery of services and technology for AstraZeneca for its internal and external collaborators.

The Specialist, GCS delivers global centralised services across drug projects and/or other activities that enable delivery of Clinical Development programs to time, cost, and quality across all delivery models.

Individuals in the role will ensure the population and availability of complete, high quality data from clinical operations processes/procedures and systems. They may deliver trainings in relation to system procedures and/or processes and participate in the coordination of the life cycle management of processes and systems/tools including associated documentation (procedural, system). All Specialists, GCS will participate in improvement projects as needed, and will chip in to functional and regional initiatives.

Typical Accountabilities

As the member of a specific activity team the GCS Specialist:

\xef\x82\xb7 Delivers GCS services

\xef\x82\xb7 Sets up and maintains systems/tools and data associated with projects, services and technology in partnership with Study Teams and external partners to appropriate standards, completeness, quality and consistency

\xef\x82\xb7 Supports life cycle management and business continuity for operational processes/procedures, systems/tools, standards, procedural documentation and training materials .

\xef\x82\xb7 Provides support to user communities including o conducting relevant process/system/tool trainings o facilitating knowledge sharing o establishing of standard methodology o ensuring communication with relevant collaborators across GCS and AZ

\xef\x82\xb7 Performs analyses of processes and tools to define business usage and find opportunities to improve efficiency/effectiveness of systems/methods/processes; Support in User Requirement Specifications and User Acceptance Tests

\xef\x82\xb7 Chips in to arguments for continuous improvement project

\xef\x82\xb7 Prioritises workload to achieve personal and work unit targets

\xef\x82\xb7 Participates in change initiatives.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or other equal education that supports Skills and Capabilities of the position and ensures successful conduct of accountabilities/responsibilities and appropriate interactions with internal/external customers.

\xef\x82\xb7 Proven organizational and analytical skills

\xef\x82\xb7 Proven ability to multitasking, time management and have task oriented performance

\xef\x82\xb7 Previous administrative training/experience.

Computer proficiency

\xef\x82\xb7 Can create and maintain systems for efficiency for both self and others

\xef\x82\xb7 Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English

\xef\x82\xb7 Strong communication skills

\xef\x82\xb7 Exhibit of AZ Values and Behaviors.

Desirable

University degree in biological science or health care related field

\xef\x82\xb7 A good understanding of the clinical study process

\xef\x82\xb7 Programming experience or programming aptitude

\xef\x82\xb7 Work experience in the pharmaceutical industry or in the environment of clinical study delivery/clinical development processes

Knowledge of pharmaceutical drug development and clinical study processes and associated government regulations, ICH GCP

\xef\x82\xb7 Shown willingness and ability to train others on study support processes and procedures

\xef\x82\xb7 Demonstrate the ability to proactively identify risks and issues as well as possible solutions

\xef\x82\xb7 GxP trained
