Job Summary
Job Title: Specialist - Import & Export Grade: Z12 Job Function: Logistics & Distribution Location: Chennai Reports to: Director – Logistics & Distribution
This involves working with Customs officials, 3rd parties like Customs House Agents and Freight Forwarders
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage Import, Export, re-import & re-export process.
• Knowledge of documentation required for Air & Sea Imports • Knowledge of creating the shipping documents for Export & Re-export consignments
• Managing lead time and taking care of follow-up with vendors for shipment schedules & shipping documents • Liaising with inspection agencies like SGS, IGI, AHK, etc for arranging inspection at load port & destination ports
  • Liaising with CFA & shipping lines for the customs clearance of Import and export movement
  • Checking import tariffs & trade agreements for our products from different countries to get duties & other benefits.
  • Shipment Bookings, freight negotiations, etc
• Should have good knowledge pertaining to the process of the DROP Shipments • Should have sound knowledge of IEC guidelines
  • Well-versed with customs notifications as per GST regulations
  • Should know how to calculate the Custom Duty
  • Complete knowledge of INCO TERMS
  • Expertise in reading & understanding Custom Tariff
  • Should have good knowledge of S.V.B process
  • R waiver rules & regulation
  • Knowledge of the documents require for Intercompany payments
  • Working closely with Finance and Marketing departments

Education/Experience Requirements
The successful candidate must possess the following:
  • Graduate or Post Graduate in any discipline The candidate must have the following level of experience in or knowledge of:
  • Strong experience in imports, export, and customs
  • 7 – 9 years of experience
