Reporting: Senior Manager, Packet Network and Platform Architecture Role purpose

• Understand and produce the engineering requirements and designs for integrating Colt\xe2\x80\x99s SDN platform with the Inventory OSS.
• Oversee the development and testing of integration.
• Create the requirements and design for a network discovery application in the SDN Platform, to reconcile inventory with network state.
• Create and own architecture and design guides.
• Manage architecture refresh processes triggered by end of life or deprecation of SDN software, applications or automations.
• Socialize high level design with Service Delivery, Network Operations, IT and TAC and agree operational models as required.
• Own and drive short/mid-term strategy. Engage with Strategy and Transformation for long term business evolution. Explore and evaluate new technologies (design and lead PoCs and trials)
• Own or support vendor engagement: Selection, technology roadmap (push for functionality)

• Liaise with stakeholders: Product, IT and Engineering teams. Acts as a point of contact for technical expertise to advise senior stakeholders, internal and external.
• Disseminate technology internally and externally. Actively participate in technical forums and other specialist communities.
• Support global stakeholder teams with escalations, vendor technical issues, technology collaborations and discussions.

Essential requirements

• 10+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Telecom Networks and Inventory Management.
• Proven track record in one or more domains like network design, API specifications, OSS (inventory) system design.
• Deep understanding of telecommunication network design and architectures.
• Understanding of Inventory Management, Discovery, Activation, Performance, and Fault Management
• Expertise in design and implementation of physical, logical and service inventory models across network technologies
• Experience in network inventory migration
• Understanding of the Telco OSS Service Fulfilment ecosystem.
• Knowledge of one or more of the following inventory systems will be very valuable: Amdocs (Cramer), Ericsson Granite, Netcracker, Oracle MetaSolv. This list is not exhaustive.
• Knowledge of TMForum Open Digital Framework and Open APIs.
• Understanding of eTOM processes and TAM applications will be valued.
• Experience in design and implementation of physical, logical and service inventory models across network technologies.
• Experience in network design (IP/MPLS/Ethernet).
• Experience with web technology/APIs, RPC, configuration, notifications and status data will be valued.
• Experience with Python and Java programming languages will be valued.
• Clear understanding of Network Function Virtualisation (NFV) and networking in cloud computing environments.
