to support and educate students aged 16 and above with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and delivering individualized learning plans, fostering skill development, and preparing students for vocational pathways, independent living, or further education.
Key Responsibilities
1. Instruction & Curriculum Development
Develop and implement customized learning plans based on assessments and student IEPs
Adapt curriculum content for students with varied learning abilities
Teach academic, social, functional, and vocational skills as per individual student goals
Use inclusive teaching strategies and assistive technology where needed
2. Student Assessment & Progress Tracking
Conduct ongoing assessments to track student growth and adapt teaching strategies
Maintain thorough documentation of student performance and progress
Hold periodic IEP meetings with parents and support teams
3. Classroom & Behavior Management
Promote a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment
Use behavioral strategies and interventions tailored to student needs
Model and reinforce appropriate behavior and soft skills
4. Collaboration & Support
Work closely with counselors, therapists, and teachers to support multidisciplinary plans
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs
Collaborate with vocational trainers or external organizations for transition planning
5. Career & Life Skills Development
Assist students in developing employability skills and preparing for internships or vocational programs
Foster social and functional skills for daily independent living
Qualifications & Experience
Education
:
Bachelor's or Master's in Special Education or related field
RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) certification preferred
Experience
:
Minimum 1-3 years of teaching or mentoring students with disabilities (preferably 16+)
Experience with intellectual, developmental, or learning disabilities
Technical Skills
:
Ability to create adaptive lesson plans and use assistive technologies
Experience with IEP/IEP goal setting and functional assessments
Key Skills & Competencies

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
