Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to individual student needs, including those with disabilities or special education requirements. Deliver instruction across various subjects such as literacy, math, physical education, music therapy, and recreational therapy, ensuring alignment with educational standards and IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals. Utilize learning technology and instructional design principles to create engaging, interactive lessons that enhance understanding and retention. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and behavioral observations; adjust teaching methods accordingly. Manage classroom environments effectively by establishing clear behavior management strategies and fostering a respectful, inclusive atmosphere. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams--including speech therapists, behavioral therapists, occupational therapists, and parents--to support holistic development. Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEPs, behavioral plans, and lesson plans; proofread reports for accuracy and clarity. Provide mentorship and guidance to students with autism, developmental disabilities, or visual impairments; support early intervention efforts when applicable. Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, special education techniques, learning technology tools, and inclusive practices. Support extracurricular activities such as library services or recreational programs to promote social skills and well-being.

Skills

Demonstrated experience working with children across early childhood to preschool age groups in educational or childcare settings. Strong knowledge of special education practices including IEP development and implementation. Expertise in teaching physical education, literacy education, math instruction, music therapy, behavioral health strategies, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Familiarity with classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and engagement. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with students, parents, colleagues, and specialists. Ability to design instructional materials using learning technology platforms; experience with standardized testing is a plus. Compassionate approach to working with individuals with disabilities such as autism or visual impairments; experience in deaf education is desirable. Proven ability to mentor students effectively while fostering independence and confidence. Knowledge of childhood development principles combined with experience in early intervention programs. Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate records of student progress and behavioral data; proofreading reports for clarity. Experience working within private school environments or similar educational institutions is advantageous.
