Job Description

As a Special Educator, your role is pivotal in providing individualized support and instruction to students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities or other exceptionalities. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess student needs, develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and implement specialized instructional programs to promote academic, social, and behavioral growth. This role requires a passion for inclusive education, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Assessment and Evaluation:

You will conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' strengths, weaknesses, and individual learning needs. Interpret assessment data to develop personalized learning goals and objectives. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to gather relevant information and develop a holistic understanding of students' abilities and challenges.

Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Development:

Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities in accordance with legal requirements and best practices. Set measurable goals and objectives based on students' unique needs and abilities. Determine appropriate accommodations, modifications, and specialized instructional strategies to support students' learning and access to the general education curriculum.

Instructional Planning and Differentiation:

Design and implement specialized instructional programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities. Adapt curriculum materials, teaching methods, and assessment strategies to accommodate students' learning styles, abilities, and interests. Provide direct instruction in small group or individual settings, as well as co-teaching support in inclusive classrooms.

Behavioral Support and Intervention:

Implement positive behavior support strategies to address challenging behaviors and promote social-emotional development. Develop behavior intervention plans (BIPs) in collaboration with the IEP team, incorporating proactive strategies, reinforcement techniques, and crisis intervention protocols. Teach self-regulation skills and provide guidance on conflict resolution and social skills development.

Collaboration and Consultation:

Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and parents to ensure coordinated support and services for students with disabilities. Provide consultation and support to classroom teachers on effective instructional strategies, behavior management techniques, and inclusive practices. Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development activities to share expertise and promote a collaborative team approach.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, assessment data, and intervention strategies. Prepare written reports, progress notes, and other documentation required for IEP meetings, parent conferences, and compliance purposes. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional interventions and adjust strategies as needed to support student growth and achievement.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
