Job Summary:



Everest Fleet is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented

Spares Manager

to oversee the inventory, procurement, and utilization of spare parts for our fleet repair and maintenance operations in Chennai. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in managing automotive spares, vendor coordination, stock reconciliation, and minimizing downtime for vehicle repairs.

Key Responsibilities:



Manage end-to-end spare parts inventory including ordering, stocking, issuance, and audits. Coordinate with the Maintenance team to ensure timely availability of required spares. Vendor management for spare parts - sourcing, rate negotiation, quality check, and timely procurement. Maintain optimum stock levels to reduce holding cost while ensuring zero downtime due to parts unavailability. Monitor spare parts consumption and analyze usage trends to forecast procurement needs. Ensure proper documentation of inward/outward materials, GRN entries, and Tally updates. Maintain stock accuracy through periodic physical stock audits and reconciliations. Coordinate with the Accounts and Central Team for vendor bill processing and payments. Implement inventory control procedures to prevent pilferage and wastage. Collaborate with workshop teams, technical staff, and external suppliers regularly. Maintain MIS reports and dashboards for inventory tracking and reporting.

Key Requirements:



Graduate/Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering or related field. 5-10 years of relevant experience in spares management in fleet operations/workshops. Strong knowledge of automotive spare parts and components (especially for 4-wheelers). Experience in using inventory management software (Tally, Excel, etc.). Good negotiation, vendor handling, and analytical skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, field-intensive environment.

Preferred Qualifications:



Prior experience in fleet management companies or automobile service centers. Knowledge of ERP systems for inventory/spares management. Familiarity with regulatory compliance related to spare part procurement and storage.
