Job Summary:



We are looking for an experienced and passionate

South Indian Chef

to prepare authentic and high-quality South Indian dishes. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of traditional recipes from states such as Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, and be capable of creating both vegetarian and non-vegetarian specialties. The chef will ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and kitchen hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:



Prepare and cook a wide range of South Indian dishes, including but not limited to dosa, idli, vada, sambar, rasam, chutneys, Kerala curries, Andhra-style biryanis, and Chettinad specialties. Develop and maintain traditional and innovative South Indian menus. Ensure authentic taste, texture, and presentation of dishes. Manage kitchen operations for South Indian cuisine, including food prep, cooking, and service coordination. Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards as per regulations. Monitor food inventory, portion sizes, and control waste. Train junior staff on South Indian cooking techniques and plating. Work closely with the purchasing team to ensure the availability of fresh and authentic ingredients. Ensure timely preparation and delivery of dishes, especially during high-demand periods.

Qualifications:



Proven experience as a South Indian Chef or in a similar role within a South Indian kitchen setup. Culinary degree or certification preferred, but not mandatory with sufficient hands-on experience. Strong knowledge of South Indian spices, ingredients, and traditional cooking methods (steaming, frying, tempering, etc.). Ability to work independently and lead a kitchen team. High attention to detail, especially regarding taste, hygiene, and presentation. Good communication and time management skills. Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Experience:



3-5 years in a professional kitchen focusing on South Indian cuisine Experience in a hotel, fine dining restaurant, or catering service is an advantage
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
