A South Indian Cook's duties involve authentically preparing dishes like dosa, idli, sambar, and chutneys, focusing on traditional recipes, fresh ingredients, and regional spices, while also managing kitchen hygiene, inventory, staff training, ensuring quality and presentation, and adhering to strict health/safety rules in a busy culinary environment, often creating new recipes and specials.
Hygiene & Safety:
Maintain a spotless kitchen, follow strict food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
Inventory Control:
Monitor stock, order supplies, manage ingredient freshness, and minimize food waste/costs.
Staff Supervision:
Train and mentor junior cooks and kitchen staff on techniques, recipes, and standards.
Workflow:
Manage food prep and production to ensure timely service, working efficiently under pressure.
