Job Summary:



The South Indian Chef (CDP) will be responsible for preparing authentic South Indian dishes for bulk production in a professional kitchen environment. The role includes handling daily food preparation, maintaining quality standards, ensuring hygiene and safety protocols, and assisting in menu planning. The candidate must have hands-on experience with traditional South Indian cooking techniques, ingredients, and regional recipes.

Key Responsibilities:



Prepare and cook authentic South Indian dishes in bulk quantities (e.g., Idli, Dosa, Vada, Sambhar, Rasam, Rice varieties, Chutneys, Curries, etc.) Ensure taste, texture, and presentation meet company standards and customer expectations. Assist in creating menu items and specials for South Indian cuisine. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety (FSSAI standards). Check and control food stock levels, storage, and wastage. Ensure proper usage of kitchen equipment and maintenance of cooking stations. Work with the Sous Chef/Head Chef to improve recipes and production efficiency. Train and guide junior staff/helpers in preparation techniques and kitchen discipline. Follow standard recipes consistently to maintain taste and quality. Ensure timely preparation and dispatch for catering or bulk orders.

Requirements & Skills:



Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a South Indian Cook/Chef in hotels, restaurants, corporate kitchens, or catering units. Strong knowledge of traditional South Indian dishes and ingredients. Ability to handle bulk production with consistency and speed. Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen operations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team. Good communication and time-management skills. Preferred: Certification in culinary/hotel management (not mandatory if experienced).
