Job Description

Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing the daily kitchen operations. Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. Ensure that all food preparation and presentation meet the restaurant's quality standards. Develop and implement recipes, menu items, and food presentation techniques in collaboration with the Head Chef. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of food and kitchen supplies, and place orders as needed. Oversee food safety and hygiene practices in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Ensure all food handling and preparation areas are clean and comply with health and safety regulations Implement and monitor hygiene practices, including hand washing, use of personal protective equipment, and cleaning procedures. u Assess the development needs of kitchen staff and provide training and career development opportunities. Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff, offering constructive feedback and mentoring. Schedule and manage kitchen staff shifts, ensuring adequate coverage for peak periods. Evaluate staff performance and address any performance issues or disciplinary actions as needed. Encourage a collaborative and innovative approach to food preparation and menu development.
