Orbit Serviced Apartments is a premium serviced apartment brand catering to high-end domestic and international (NRI) guests. We are launching an in-house cafe & kitchen operation exclusively for our residents and delivery platforms (no walk-ins).
We are looking for a highly responsible, hands-on Sous Chef to set up and independently run the kitchen operations with hotel-level quality and discipline.
Role Overview
Hands-on Sous Chef responsible for daily cooking and full kitchen operations
Service exclusively for:
In-house guests
Room service (in-room dining)
Online delivery
No buffet, no complimentary breakfast -- all meals are paid, a la carte
European cafe-style menu to match our modern interiors
Cuisine & Concept
Primary focus:
Continental cafe-style food
Healthy meals
Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Supporting:
Multi-cuisine knowledge (basic Indian preferred for NRI guests)
Menu:
A la carte
No restriction on signature dishes -- we value chef creativity with consistency
Service Style
All-day dining
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks
Room service with proper tray plating & presentation
Premium quality aligned with 5-star serviced apartment standards
Expected Volume (Estimate)
Property capacity: 80-90 in-house guests at full occupancy
Responsibilities
Cook hands-on daily
Plan menus & daily prep
Maintain consistent taste, quality & hygiene
Handle:
Inventory management
Vendor coordination
Ordering & stock control
Food costing & wastage control
Ensure compliance with FSSAI & hygiene standards
Set up and manage room service plating SOPs
Train and supervise junior kitchen staff
Take complete ownership of kitchen operations
Team Structure
Initial recommendation:
1 Sous Chef (you)
1-2 Commis / Kitchen Assistants (to be hired gradually)
Reports directly to: Owner
Experience Required
Minimum 6-10 years of kitchen experience
Prior experience in:
4-star / 5-star hotels
Premium serviced apartments
High-quality cafe or restaurant concepts
Strong understanding of:
Continental cafe food
Breakfast operations
Cost control in premium kitchens
Must be independent, mature, and reliable
