Job Summary:



The Sous Chef is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the overall kitchen

operations, including menu planning, food preparation, kitchen staff management, and

inventory control. The ideal candidate will ensure that the kitchen operates efficiently and

that high-quality food is consistently prepared and served.

Key Responsibilities:



Assist in Menu Planning and Development:



Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create new dishes and update the menu.

Ensure menu items are prepared to established standards of quality and presentation.

Create Standardised Recipes.

Food Preparation and Cooking:



Oversee daily food preparation and cooking activities.

Ensure that all food items are prepared according to recipes and quality standards.

Maintain consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation of all dishes.

Kitchen Management:



Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks,

and dishwashers.

Train and mentor kitchen staff to improve their skills and efficiency.

Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Inventory and Cost Control:



Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory of food and kitchen supplies.

Monitor and control food costs and waste.

Ensure proper storage and handling of all food items.

Health and Safety Compliance:



Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Implement and enforce sanitation standards and procedures.

Customer Service:



Work with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate food service.

Address customer concerns and feedback regarding food quality and service.

Qualifications:



Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen.

Culinary degree or equivalent training and experience.

Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food handling procedures.

Physical Requirements:



Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to [specified weight].

Ability to work in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment.

Working Conditions:



Full-time position with varying hours based on business needs, including weekends

and holidays.

Potential for exposure to hot surfaces, sharp objects, and hazardous materials.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?16,575.04 - ?25,000.00 per month
