to oversee and manage the daily food operations of our hostel. The ideal candidate will ensure that residents are served nutritious, hygienic, and well-balanced meals while maintaining high standards of kitchen efficiency and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and preparing daily meals for hostel residents.
Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate day to day cooking operations.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
Plan cost-effective menus suitable for hostel dining.
Oversee inventory, stock rotation, and timely procurement of ingredients.
Train junior kitchen staff and maintain a positive working environment.
Manage portion control to reduce wastage and maintain quality.
Handle special dietary requirements when needed.
Monitor kitchen equipment and ensure regular maintenance.
Qualifications & Skills
Diploma/degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred.
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a commercial kitchen; hostel or institutional cooking experience is a plus.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Ability to prepare meals for large groups efficiently.
Knowledge of nutritional standards and safe food practices.
Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings and weekends.
