Job Description

1. Qualification

? B.E. / B.Tech (Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred)

? Minimum 7-10 years in strategic sourcing, preferably in engineering goods or genset industry

? SAP/ERP system working knowledge

? Strong negotiation and supplier development skills

2. Roles & Responsibilities

? Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for raw materials, bought-out components, and subcontracted jobs

? Develop vendor capabilities for quality, cost, and delivery (QCD)

? Handle price negotiation, rate contract finalization, and supplier agreements

? Ensure continuity of supply and manage risks

? Work cross-functionally with Design, PPC, QA, and Manufacturing teams

3. Key Activities

? Float RFQs and evaluate quotations

? Prepare cost comparisons and get approvals

? Monitor supplier performance (OTD, rejection rate)

? Conduct supplier audits and initiate improvement plans

? Track market trends and alternative sourcing options

? Coordinate with inward and stores for PO compliance
