Job Description

The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing sourcing strategies to ensure the timely procurement of materials, components, and services at the best value, quality, and reliability. The role involves supplier identification, evaluation, negotiation, and continuous improvement to support production and business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with company objectives for cost, quality, and delivery. Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers (local and international) for raw materials, sheet metal components, fasteners, and other purchased parts. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and supply agreements with vendors. Maintain vendor relationships and monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, and service. Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Design teams to ensure purchased materials meet technical and commercial requirements. Track market trends, material cost fluctuations, and identify opportunities for cost reduction. Manage purchase orders, contracts, and documentation in coordination with the Purchase Executive. Analyze supplier capacity and risks to ensure uninterrupted material availability. Support new product development (NPD) by sourcing new parts and materials as per engineering requirements. Prepare and maintain vendor database, price lists, and sourcing reports for management review.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong negotiation and analytical skills. Good understanding of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, machining, surface treatment, etc.). Proficiency in vendor development and cost analysis. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of ERP or Tally systems (preferred). Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience:

Minimum 5-8 years in sourcing or purchase within a manufacturing industry, preferably automotive or engineering sector.
