Role Overview
The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing reliable suppliers and manufacturers for various raw materials.
The role demands strong negotiation, vendor management, and quality control skills to ensure timely procurement of the right product at the right price, without compromising on quality or design standards.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers and manufacturers for diverse raw materials (metal, ceramic, wood, glass components, candle molds, etc.).
Create and maintain a comprehensive vendor database with complete supplier information, price lists, and sample records.
Ensure timely procurement of materials and samples in alignment with production schedules and design requirements.
Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and payment conditions to achieve optimal cost efficiency.
Evaluate supplier performance on parameters like quality, reliability, responsiveness, and consistency.
Coordinate closely with the design and production teams to ensure product specifications and quality standards are fully met.
Establish and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers to ensure a smooth and continuous supply chain.
Conduct regular market research to identify new sourcing opportunities, alternative materials, and cost-saving options.
Ensure that all sourced materials comply with company quality standards and sustainability requirements.
Take full accountability for sourcing fulfillment -- from sample approval to final material delivery at the factory.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong vendor management and negotiation abilities.
Excellent understanding of procurement processes and cost analysis.
Knowledge of raw materials used in home decor, candle-making, and glassware production.
Good communication and relationship-building skills.
High sense of accountability, responsibility, and attention to detail.
Proficiency in MS Excel and vendor management tools.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
0-1 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or vendor development, preferably in manufacturing or home decor/export industries.
Strong network of raw material suppliers across India will be an added advantage.
