Job Description

Key Responsibilities and Tasks



1. Determining recruiting requirements in coordination with fleet Managers based on ship owner requirements and Manning Contracts

2. Verification of qualifications and experiences, requirements for the position based on job descriptions and job qualifications provided by ship owners.

3. Verification of the authenticity, validity and correctness of seafarer's qualifications, experiences and certifications by interviewing seafarer, checking his/her application and certifications, and verifying references

4. Verification that the seafarer has a good understanding of English to a level defined by the Manning Contract and/or mandatory rules, regulations and conventions and is also able to communicate effectively in the defined working language.

5. Ensuring that the Management Policy are understood and implemented in the operations of his/her department.

6. Identifying and recording problems and initiating actions to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to the services defined in the Manning Contracts, in the selection, evaluation, recruitment and training processes.

7. Ability to work under pressure

8. Work with a strong sense of urgency with the ability to switch priorities quickly as required

9. Knowledge of international conventions and regulations in shipping, the shipboard hierarchy, responsibilities, basic job descriptions and certification requirements for officers and ratings in accordance with STCW and MLC 2006

10. Good knowledge of Maritime Geography, Visa formalities, organizational set-up of ITF

11. Ensures all records in recruitment systems and databases are correct and up-to-date, notes in candidates' profiles are accurate and reflect the verified information about the candidate, including but not limited to availability date, expected wage, attributes (skills and competencies).

12. Performs other reasonable recruitment related duties assigned by the line manager.

13. Supports new and junior recruitment team members with quick on boarding.

14. Experience of dealing with multinational crew.

Skills Required:



Good Communication skills in English, Hindi

Knowledge/Abilities Required: MS-Word, MS-Excel

Possesses a Bachelor's degree or higher
