Responsibilities:

• Accurately transcribe sonography and ultrasound reports from voice or handwritten notes into digital format.

• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of patient health information in compliance with HIPAA and hospital privacy policies.

• Review and edit reports for clarity, consistency, and correct use of medical terminology.

• Ensure timely completion and delivery of reports to radiologists and healthcare providers.

• Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems and hospital-specific software for report entry and storage.

• Collaborate with sonographers and radiologists to clarify unclear or incomplete documentation.

• Maintain organized digital filing systems and ensure version control of reports.

• Support departmental workflows by managing report backlogs and meeting turnaround time targets.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of proven experience in sonography report typing or medical transcription in a clinical or hospital setting.

• Excellent English typing speed (minimum 50 WPM) with high accuracy and minimal errors.

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, particularly related to ultrasound imaging, anatomy, and pathology.

• Proficient in basic computer operations and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting strict deadlines.

• High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all documentation.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

• Understanding of hospital documentation standards and patient data confidentiality protocols.
