About the Role:
We are looking for a seasoned Solutions Architect to join our Customer Operations team, with a focus on onboarding new customers to our Private Cloud Director (PCD) platform. This is a post-sales, customer-facing engineering role requiring deep expertise in OpenStack, virtualization, and cloud-native infrastructure.
As a Solutions Architect, you'll guide enterprise customers through deployment, configuration, and operationalization of PCD in their environments. You'll work alongside Platform9's Product and Engineering teams to deliver successful outcomes, influence product direction, and champion best practices in automation and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the post-sales onboarding and deployment of Private Cloud Director for enterprise customers
• Architect and implement virtualization and private cloud solutions using OpenStack, SDN, and modern automation tooling
• Develop and apply zero-touch deployment strategies at scale using scripting and automation frameworks
• Dive deep into technical issues, including debugging Python stack traces, troubleshooting infrastructure problems, and optimizing deployment workflows
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to file bugs, escalate issues, and advocate for customer-driven roadmap improvements
• Serve as a technical advisor and trusted partner to customer stakeholders, helping drive successful adoption of the PCD platform
• Provide guidance on storage, networking, virtualization, and infrastructure architecture best practices and implement these in PCD
• Maintain clear documentation and share operational knowledge with internal and customer teams
• Participate in an agile working environment with rapid iteration and continuous feedback loops
• Occasionally contribute to pre-sales efforts when deep architectural guidance is required

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, cloud architecture, or infrastructure consulting roles
• Deep, hands-on experience with OpenStack and virtualization technologies (KVM, Libvirt, etc.)
• Strong foundation in Linux systems administration, networking, and software-defined networking (SDN)
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Ansible, etc.)
• Strong understanding of storage solutions - block, file, and object storage
• Proven experience in customer-facing roles delivering infrastructure or cloud-native solutions
• Ability to diagnose and debug complex infrastructure issues, including reading stack traces and troubleshooting distributed systems
• Self-motivated and eager to learn; able to work independently in a fast-paced, agile environment
• Comfortable working during US timezones while based in India

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Kubernetes and container-based infrastructure
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm, etc.)
• Experience working with or contributing to open-source projects
• Knowledge of hybrid or multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
