. The ideal candidate must be proficient in
SolidWorks
, with a solid understanding of mechanical design standards, fabrication tolerances, and shop-friendly drafting practices. This role will be pivotal in converting conceptual designs into detailed manufacturing drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed
2D and 3D mechanical drawings
for fabrication and assembly of pressure equipment, including
shell & tube heat exchangers
, skid-mounted systems, and associated piping.
Generate
general arrangement (GA)
drawings,
fabrication
drawings,
BOMs
,
isometrics
, and
piping layouts
as per project specifications.
Interpret design inputs such as P&IDs, process data sheets, and engineering notes to develop accurate CAD models.
Ensure all drawings are compliant with
ASME
,
TEMA
, and internal standards.
Coordinate with design engineers, shop floor personnel, and quality control teams to clarify design intent and support smooth production.
Maintain design documentation and revision control using SolidWorks PDM or equivalent systems.
Review and modify existing drawings to improve manufacturability and reduce cost or complexity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree
in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Proficiency in
SolidWorks
(3D modeling, sheet metal, weldments, piping modules).
Strong command of
AutoCAD
for 2D layouts and legacy drawing updates.
Sound understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes, tolerances, and materials.
Familiarity with
ASME Section VIII

(preferred).
Ability to read and understand
technical documents

process flow diagrams

Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
