Job Overview

The Solar Technician (Trainee) will undergo a 15-day intensive hands-on training program focused on basic installation, operation, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The training aims to build entry-level technical skills required for assisting in solar rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects.

Training Objectives

Develop basic understanding of solar energy systems Build practical skills in solar panel installation and maintenance Promote safety awareness and quality workmanship Prepare candidates for entry-level employment or apprenticeship in the solar sector
Key Roles & Responsibilities (During Training)

Understand fundamentals of solar energy and photovoltaic technology Identify components of solar PV systems (modules, inverters, batteries, structures, wiring) Assist in installation of solar panels under supervision Learn DC and AC electrical wiring basics for solar systems Perform basic testing, commissioning, and fault identification Follow safety procedures while working at heights and with electrical tools Maintain tools, equipment, and worksite cleanliness Record basic installation and maintenance data
Skills & Competencies Developed

Basic electrical knowledge Solar PV system understanding Tool handling and equipment usage Safety compliance (PPE usage, electrical safety) Teamwork and communication Problem-solving at entry level
Educational Qualification (Preferred)

Minimum 8th / 10th pass (ITI or Diploma in Electrical preferred but not mandatory)
Eligibility Criteria

Willingness to learn and work in field conditions Physically fit for installation work Basic numeracy and reading skills Interest in renewable energy sector

Solar panels and mounting structures Multimeter and basic electrical tools Safety equipment (helmets, gloves, harness)
Assessment & Certification

Practical and theoretical assessment at the end of training Certificate of completion issued to successful candidates
