B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Renewable Energy / Related Technical Field.

Role Overview

The Solar Technical Head will lead and manage the complete technical operations of solar projects. This role requires strong technical expertise along with the ability to guide site engineers, technicians, and project teams to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality execution of solar installations.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

Lead the entire solar technical team, including site engineers, technicians, and supervisors. Define technical standards, installation processes, and quality benchmarks. Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support across all projects.

Project Execution & Commissioning

Oversee solar plant installation, testing, and commissioning activities. Ensure projects are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and timelines. Monitor site progress and resolve technical challenges promptly.

Quality & Safety

Ensure adherence to safety standards, electrical norms, and best installation practices. Conduct technical inspections before project handover. Approve installations for commissioning and client handover.

Material & Technical Coordination

Verify technical specifications of solar modules, inverters, structures, cables, and BOS items. Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams for correct material planning and usage. Evaluate new technologies, vendors, and products for technical suitability.

Documentation & Handover

Ensure proper documentation including test reports, as-built drawings, and system manuals. Support smooth handover of projects to clients with technical explanations and training.

Inter-Department Coordination

Work closely with sales, liaison, procurement, and project management teams. Provide technical inputs during pre-sales discussions and feasibility checks.

Skills Required

Strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems and electrical works. Leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability. Ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously. Proficiency in technical documentation and reporting.
