Job Title: Solar Permitting & Stamping Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical)Job Summary

The Solar Permitting & Stamping Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and stamping solar PV permit drawings, including electrical and mechanical designs. The role ensures full compliance with AHJ requirements, electrical codes, structural standards, and utility guidelines for residential and commercial solar projects.

Key Responsibilities Electrical Responsibilities

Prepare and review

electrical permit drawings

(SLD, three-line diagrams, stringing, grounding, labeling) Ensure compliance with

NEC, utility interconnection standards, and local electrical codes

Size conductors, breakers, inverters, transformers, and protection devices Review rapid shutdown, AFCI/GFCI, and grounding/bonding requirements Address electrical plan check comments from AHJs and utilities
Mechanical / Structural Responsibilities

Review and stamp

mechanical and structural drawings

for roof-mounted and ground-mounted systems Perform

roof load calculations

, wind and snow load analysis Ensure compliance with

IBC, IRC, ASCE 7

, and local building codes Verify mounting systems, racking details, attachments, and spacing Review site conditions and roof types (shingle, tile, metal, flat roofs)
Permitting & Coordination

Prepare complete

permit packages

including site plans, electrical, mechanical, and structural sheets Provide

engineering stamps (PE/SE)

as required by jurisdiction Coordinate with design, sales, and permitting teams to resolve corrections Respond to AHJ comments and revise drawings for approval Maintain proper documentation and revision control
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in

Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering

Licensed

Professional Engineer (PE/SE)

in applicable states Strong understanding of

solar PV electrical and mechanical systems

Knowledge of AHJ permitting processes and utility requirements
Experience

0-1+ years of experience in solar PV design, permitting, or stamping Residential and commercial solar project experience preferred
Tools & Software

AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical Solar tools: Aurora, Helioscope, PVsyst Structural calculation tools as applicable
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ?19,000.00 - ?24,000.00 per month
