Job Description

A solar panel electrician installs, maintains, and repairs photovoltaic (PV) systems by connecting solar panels, inverters, and batteries to a building's electrical system. Key duties include designing system layouts, complying with local codes, troubleshooting electrical issues, performing inspections, and ensuring system safety and efficiency. This role requires a combination of electrical expertise and knowledge of solar technology. Key responsibilities

Installation

: Assemble, install, and connect solar panels, inverters, and associated electrical wiring to a building's power supply.

Design

: Plan and design solar panel system layouts based on site assessments and customer needs.

Maintenance and Repair

: Perform routine maintenance, diagnose electrical problems, and repair or replace faulty components.

Compliance

: Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with local building and electrical codes.

Testing

: Activate and test newly installed systems to confirm they are functioning correctly and safely.

Documentation

: Keep accurate records of all installations, repairs, and inspections.
Required skills and qualifications

Electrical Expertise

: Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, circuits, and systems.

Solar Technology

: Familiarity with solar panels, inverters, batteries, and related equipment.

Code and Safety

: Knowledge of industry standards, safety protocols, and local electrical codes.

Physical Stamina

: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as climbing ladders and lifting heavy equipment.
