About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and seasoned Plant Head / Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the establishment and operation of our solar module manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in setting up and running solar module plants and should have worked with established names in the solar/renewable energy sector.

Initially based in Mumbai for planning and coordination, the role will transition full-time to the manufacturing site near Surat, Gujarat, once the plant is operational.

Key Responsibilities:

Phase 1: Factory Setup & Commissioning

Provide expert guidance in the planning, design, and commissioning of the solar module manufacturing plant. Liaise with machinery suppliers and technology partners to ensure timely setup. Define layout, workflow, and capacity planning based on industry best practices. Establish SOPs for operations, quality control, EHS (environmental, health & safety), and manpower planning.

Phase 2: Plant Operations

Lead daily plant operations, ensuring optimal machine utilization and output efficiency. Monitor production KPIs including throughput, yield, downtime, and quality. Implement systems to minimize material wastage and improve process efficiencies. Oversee procurement, inventory, packaging, and dispatch operations in coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure product quality and certifications in compliance with MNRE, IEC, and international standards. Drive a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and accountability across departments. Build and manage a high-performing operations team, from production supervisors to maintenance and logistics.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering; MBA preferred. Minimum 15 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in a solar module manufacturing setup. Strong knowledge of mono and polycrystalline PV module production, lamination, testing, EL, IV curve analysis, etc. Demonstrated expertise in factory operations, team leadership, quality systems, and cost control. Proven ability to plan, build, and scale manufacturing operations from the ground up. Excellent interpersonal, vendor management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Background:

Candidates from top solar brands or leading module manufacturers. Experience in greenfield project setup will be a strong advantage.

Location & Travel:

Initial months based in Mumbai for planning and coordination. Full-time relocation to factory site near Surat, Gujarat post-setup.

Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ?2,400,000.00 per year
