Solar Engineer - Roles & Responsibilities (PM Surya Ghar Yojana)1. Site Survey & Feasibility
Conduct site visits to assess rooftop strength, shading, and orientation.
Perform load analysis, shadow analysis, and estimate solar generation potential.
Check grid availability and net metering feasibility.
2. System Design & Planning
Prepare technical design, system sizing (1-10 kW typical range under scheme).
Select modules, inverters, and BoS as per MNRE/DISCOM guidelines.
Ensure compliance with PM Surya Ghar technical standards.
3. Installation Supervision
Supervise the installation team and contractors during structure, module, wiring, and inverter installation.
Ensure safety standards and proper earthing, lightning protection, and cable management.
Perform quality checks at each stage.
4. Coordination & Documentation
Coordinate with DISCOM officials for net-metering and approvals.
Maintain documentation as per scheme requirement (survey report, installation photos, testing reports, beneficiary signature).
Update project progress reports to EPC/project manager.
5. Testing & Commissioning
Conduct pre-commissioning checks of the system.
Test system performance (IR test, open-circuit voltage, short-circuit current, inverter sync).
Ensure successful grid synchronization and handover to customer.
6. Training & Handover
Provide beneficiary with basic training on system operation and maintenance.
Share O&M manual and warranty documents.
7. After-Sales Support
Handle troubleshooting calls for performance issues.
Assist in warranty claims/replacements if required.
Monitor generation (if remote monitoring is installed).
