This role requires hands-on expertise in solar PV installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Support to Site Manager
Execute assigned responsibilities independently while reporting progress to the Site Manager.
Provide technical inputs and assist in overall project coordination.
Technical & Electrical Work
Supervise and carry out installation of solar panels, inverters, junction boxes, cabling, and electrical switchgear.
Review and implement electrical layouts and wiring diagrams.
Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of solar systems.
Ensure electrical installations meet design specifications and industry standards.
Site Supervision
Guide and monitor technicians and subcontractors for electrical work.
Coordinate manpower and resources to meet project timelines.
Report site progress, issues, and solutions to the Site Manager.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all electrical works comply with safety codes and project standards.
Monitor quality of installation and immediately rectify non-conformities.
Support Site Manager in safety audits and inspections.
Operations & Maintenance (O&M)
Assist in post-installation system checks, testing, and preventive maintenance.
Prepare technical documentation and handover reports.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
6-8 years of experience in solar PV projects with hands-on site execution.
Strong technical knowledge of solar electrical systems, cabling, HT/LT distribution, and commissioning.
Ability to independently handle electrical tasks at site with minimal supervision.
Good communication and coordination skills to work closely with the Site Manager and project team.
Key Skills
Expertise in
solar PV systems, inverters, and balance-of-system components
Strong knowledge of
HT/LT electrical systems, cabling, and switchgear
Proficiency in
AutoCAD (electrical drawings), MS Office, and project management tools
Hands-on experience with
electrical testing equipment
(multimeters, insulation testers, IV curve tracers, etc.)
Familiarity with
national and international electrical codes/standards
(IEC, NEC, IS, etc.)
Safety certifications (if any, e.g.,
Electrical Supervisor License, OSHA, First Aid Training
) preferred
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and reporting skills
