Solar Design Engineer

to design, optimize, and support the development of

solar photovoltaic (PV) systems

for residential, commercial, and/or utility-scale projects. The role involves creating system layouts, electrical designs, production estimates, and engineering documentation while ensuring compliance with local codes, utility requirements, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare PV system layouts including module placement, string sizing, and inverter configuration Perform electrical design work (single-line diagrams, wiring schedules, grounding, protection devices) Conduct shading analysis and energy yield calculations using PV design software Create and review technical drawings using AutoCAD or similar tools Coordinate with civil/structural teams for mounting and rooftop load considerations

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field Experience in solar PV system design (typically 1-5 years depending on level) AutoCAD / DraftSight PVsyst, Helioscope, SketchUp, or similar

15k to 25 k
