We are seeking a highly skilled specialist to lead the migration of legacy mainframe applications to a modern midrange Java environment using Astadia Factory tools. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in mainframe technologies, strong debugging capabilities, and hands-on experience with Java code--especially post-conversion. This role is critical to ensuring the successful transformation and deployment of applications in AWS Batch.

Astadia Factory tools

to transform mainframe applications to Java-based midrange systems. + Debug and validate

converted Java code

, ensuring functional parity with legacy systems.
+ Analyze and resolve issues in both

mainframe and converted Java environments

+ Document technical designs, migration strategies, and troubleshooting steps.
+ Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth migration and integration.
+ Collaborate with Cloud engineers to

deploy applications in AWS Batch

+ Mentor junior developers and support knowledge transfer across teams.

All you need is...

7+ years

of experience in

mainframe technologies

(COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS). +

2+ years

of hands-on

Java development

experience.
+ Strong

debugging skills

in both mainframe and Java environments.
+ Experience with

mainframe-to-Java migration frameworks

is a plus
+ Familiarity with

Unix/Linux

, shell scripting, and SQL.
+ Understanding of

AWS

and cloud deployment practices.
+ Exposure to

Agile and Waterfall

methodologies.
+ Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
+ Certifications in

AWS or other cloud platforms

+ Experience with

Python

or other modern programming languages is a plus.
