What you'll be doing

The Confluent Kafka Designer is responsible for designing, and implementing scalable and secure data streaming solutions in a hybrid setup (AWS, GCP, and on-prem)
This role involves defining topic structures, schema designs, integration patterns, and performance tuning strategies to support real-time data flow across distributed systems
They must be proficient in Kafka Connect integration, stream processing (Kafka Streams/ksqlDB), and hybrid deployment models.
The role demands deep knowledge of Confluent Cloud, on-prem clusters, Cluster Linking, and cross-environment data replication
The designer ensures robust governance by implementing security controls such as RBAC, ACLs, and encryption, while establishing standards for topic naming, schema evolution, and retention, capacity planning, automation (Terraform, CI/CD), and observability are key responsibilities
The role also includes collaboration with application teams, infrastructure, and security stakeholders, along with providing operational support, monitoring guidance, and incident troubleshooting to ensure platform reliability and performance
The skills you'll need to succeed

Functional Knowledge & Technical Skills
Understanding of Data Architecture, Streaming, Kafka, No-Sql DBs.
Experience in setting up Kafka environment on Test and Production if required and troubleshoot issues to build a working environment.
Experience in Kafka Administrative aspects like Creating and manging Kafka Cluster, Kafka Zookeeper, Kafka Connect, Kafka SQL, Kafka Producers and Consumers, Kafka Topics, Schema registry, Load balancing techniques, Security, Monitoring, and others
Integrating Kafka with multiple Producers and Consumers, Streaming APIs.
Practical project experience on Agile and DevOps working model for Automated Build, Deployments and Monitoring techniques
Prior experience on design and development of Kafka projects.
Self-learner & keep yourself abreast of the business, technology & IT practice changes.
Interest in running POCs for new technologies, analyzing considerations, establishing standards and propagating to wider teams
Leadership & Interpersonal Skills
Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of continuous improvement
Foster collaborative mindset within the team.
Required Qualification

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
4+ years of hands-on experience with Kafka development.
Preferred Skills
--------------------
Should have knowledge Microservices architecture using Java Spring boot libraries
Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or other IAC tools for Kafka resource provisioning
