Job Description

Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features. Contributes to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight.Creates and implements code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable. Contributes to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items to bring clarity and provides estimation. Leverage performance and profiling tools to identify hot spots and bottlenecks across hardware and software boundaries. Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gains approval to restore system/product/service for simple problems. Act as a DRI for release management, ensure the release sticks to the schedule by identifying reasons for blockers/delays, improve the signals that are blocking deployments, triage the issues are new vs existing, mitigate and work towards improving the release process. Remains current in skills by investing time and effort into staying abreast of current developments that will improve the security, availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python 2+ year(s) experience developing and debugging distributed systems or cloud-scale services. 2+ year(s) of proficiency working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality solutions. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. Stellar problem-solving skills and ability to work on complex technical challenges. Familiarity with service reliability engineering and incident management. Exposure to open-source frameworks and standards related to observability.
